Prologue was Katerwaul's debut album that the band themselves classified as more of a demo EP. Only 50 copies were produced in November 2007, 20 of which were special edition, a Black & White tracing paper lyrics book with abstract photography by singer Tim Courtney.
The album was repackaged and another 100 rereleased in 2009 in a hand made card digifile format. A large batch of the albums were damaged and deemed unsellable, it is unknown how many copies physically exist.
Prologue was written & performed by Tim Courtney, Graham Chalmers, Sam Coleman and Nick J. Morrice and recorded partially live in Katerwaul's damp studio lock up by the Aberdeen Harbour except track 5 which was recorded live in Shaun Hughe's flat on King Street, Aberdeen while Tim was house sitting and looking after Guinea Pigs.
